This is a page that will be devoted to sharing personal testimonies, blessings, and extraordinary things that the Lord does through the Old Bethel Church. It's a testimony to HIS goodness, mercy, and grace extended to those that love Him.

New York City Missions Trip
18 adults and teens traveled to New York City August 17-21 for a Missions Trip and Youth Rally event with First Bible Church in Staten Island. The teens spent Thursday evening at the Staten Island Ferry terminal handing out tracts, singing, and street preaching. Friday, they spent time in the church's print shop and Friday evening participated in the rally with preaching by Mike Rabino and Aaron Riddle. Saturday the "War Tour" took place with over 40 folks from both churches walking Broadway handing out tracts, singing, and street preaching. After services on Sunday, the group was able to explore the sites of New York City and enjoy the scenery. Over 2000 tracts were handed out and several got to speak with people one on one about the Lord. The church even had a visitor attend on Sunday that had talked with the group Thursday evening. It was a great experience to serve the Lord and fulfill the Great Commission. "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15 |

Camp Harvest Bound 2017
12 Teens and 4 Adults set off July 16th to make the 10 1/2 hour journey to Camp Harvest Bound in West Chazy, NY. The greatest blessing was seeing 4 of our young people realizing their need of a Savior and getting saved during the week. We estimated hearing approximately 22 sermons over the 6 days and had hours and hours of fun on top of that. It was hot and tiring, but well worth the time and investment. |

A special thanks to Pastor Jason Porter (and wife) and Greg McFadden (and family) for making the trip in from Michigan and BJ Tyrell and Rob Oswald coming in from New York to participate in the evening's activities. Youth Ablaze
Youth Ablaze 2017 was a special year for the Old Bethel Church. Every year Pastor Roscoe hands out Flame Awards. This goes to Pastors, Youth Pastors and Laypeople who have diligently served the Lord over the years. Pastor Riddle received one of the awards this year as he, his wife and Aaron took 7 teens to Rochester, NY to participate in this amazing event. The theme of "Continue" was a challenging topic to all who attended. The preaching and music was all a blessing. It was truly an honor and blessing and very humbling to be a recipient of this very special award but more importantly to be a part of such a God-glorifying Youth event. |

Kid's Camp Out
On Friday April 24th, we held our first Kid's Camp Out night in the church Blue Room. What a blast it was. Sixteen children attended and 14 of them stayed over night in the tents that were set up. There were many activities for them to do from minute-to-win-it games such as 100 cup challenge, 21 cup individual challenge, and the M&M race. However, the favorite event of the night was the obstacle course that was set up throughout the church. The kids LOVED IT and asked to go through it numerous times. When it came time to settle in for the night, we started off by roasting some smore's and having popcorn while watching a movie. Despite all the excitement, all the kids slept through the night. The next morning, we had a delicious breakfast and then it was back on the obstacle course for a while until it was time to go home. Praise the Lord for the great turn out of children and the all the adults that helped during the entire event. It was a great time of fun and fellowship. Stay posted as we plan to hold another event like this in the near future. |

To God Be the Glory!
March 22, 2015 was an exceptional day to be in the house of the Lord! Two precious souls were saved - one in Sunday School and one during the morning worship. The previous week, a young man also came to the saving knowledge of Christ - making 3 in the month of March that now can say they have a home in Heaven! The evening service had another wonderful blessing.... Abraham Kline, a young man called to preach and desiring to go into evangelism was with us. What made this even more powerful was that just a little over 6 months ago, Abraham was on life support and facing the decision of removing the life support or living in a "vegetated" state the rest of his days on earth. Abraham chose to trust that God would do what was best and relied on prayer to see him through. Even though he walks with a walker and has a trache still in place, he gave his testimony and preached on the power of prayer. While he was in the hospital, he wrote words down about prayer and asked Aaron if he would put it to music. To conclude the service, Abraham and Aaron were able to sing the song that Abraham wrote..... God is truly so good! To God Be the Glory! |

Fred will be preaching and teaching with a national pastor there and Lisa received cosmetology training so she can use her skills to witness to the ladies of the lower caste. This couple loves the Lord and His Word and desires to faithfully serve Him in India. |

Youth Ablaze Trip
A group of 9 set out in a rented van on February 19th for Rochester, NY to attend the Youth Ablaze Conference hosted by Chili Baptist Church. Upon arrival we were greeted by -10 degree temperatures (but many warm hearts)! The preaching and fellowship was a blessing, the music was very uplifting and God-honoring, but most of all God spoke to the hearts of those that attended. Due to an approaching snow storm, the group decided to leave Friday night after services. The group was on the road by midnight and drove through the night in the sub-zero temperatures. At approximately 3:00AM, the group stopped to gas up along RT220 in Lock Haven, PA. Upon exiting the gas station, several "warning" lights came on and the power steering went out. While continuing to drive down the highway, the I80 ramp was under construction and just ahead. As the van approached the intersection, it stalled. The van drifted through the intersection and onto the ramp, but because of construction, there was no where to pull off. As the group sat alongside the road with a temperature of -5 degrees and no running vehicle, Pastor Duane quickly said "Praise His Holy Name!" This was actually a quote from a preacher at the conference that continued to challenge the youth to always praise the Lord no matter where you were at or what you were going through. Youth leader, Aaron, followed that comment up with breaking into song "Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him in the morning, Praise Him in the noon time, Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him when the sun goes down"... However, Pastor Riddle quickly changed the last words to "Praise Him when the van breaks down!" Pastor Riddle dialed for roadside assistance, but the message on the other end said "Due to a large volume of calls, there were no representatives available to take the call." (Really, at 3:30AM in the morning???) So a 911 call was made to get the police and seek help. It was WAY to cold to get out and walk, and the van had no heat because it wouldn't run. The police called a tow truck and between the tow truck and police, they were able to transport the group to the next exit where there was a Pilot gas station/restaurant. The garage where the tow truck hauled the van was across the street from the Pilot, but didn't open until 8. There was no way to know what was wrong with the van and if it could be easily fixed until after then. The Enterprise Rental place that was in nearby Lock Haven wasn't open on Saturdays, so Pastor started making calls to see how the group could get home. The rental place that the van was rented from left no emergency numbers and they didn't open until 9AM. A few people from back home had agreed to come and get the group, but again the storm was approaching quickly and the group was bound to have to drive through it by the time those folks would have arrived. A Comfort Inn was a few hundred yards down the road, so it was decided that the group would walk down there and get a few rooms to rest until those traveling would get there. The group had not slept and exhaustion was really setting in. As the group approached the counter of the Comfort Inn, the lady who would be fixing the morning breakfast there was just coming in to work. She heard the story and immediately offered her husband's service. He had vans and hauled Amish people around. The group decided to take them up on their offer and no longer need to get any rooms, as they would soon be on their way home. The lady took off for the day so she and her husband could drive the group back to Somerset in 2 vehicles. Pastor Riddle and the ladies drove with the woman, and Aaron and the guys drove with the man. Pastor Riddle witnessed to the woman and she told him that she was saved in a prison in San Diego, CA... (Pastor Riddle is heading to San Diego to go into several prisons the end of February)... amazing!, As Pastor Riddle is talking to her, Aaron texted him and said, "Dad, be praying, we are witnessing to (the husband) and I think he's on the verge of getting saved." A short time later, Aaron texted and said "Dad, he just got saved!" As soon as we got to Somerset, the husband jumped out of his vehicle and shouted to his wife, "Honey, I just got saved!" Things in life don't always go as planned! But God is ALWAYS in control. He knows where we are, what we are going though, and how to help us..... Sometimes, we forget that and begin to murmur and complain, but...... I Thessalonians 5:18 says "In every thing give thanks: for this the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." That (husband) has a home in Heaven today because the group chose to praise God in the midst of their circumstances and still be obedient to "Praise His Holy Name!" Thank God for His safety, protection, and provision on this trip, but most of all for seeing fit to use this group to lead (the husband) to the Lord on February 21, 2015! |
